A BREATH OF SPRING
This delightful and aptly named comedy should ensure that any remaining winter blues are
completely banished!
It tells the story of Dame Beatrice who, finding times hard, has taken in 'guests' or
'lodgers' as they are known to her maid Lily. Dame Beatrice and her guests discover
a new and rejuvenating interest as they approach the 'teatime of life' when Dame
Beatrice's maid gives her mistress the unlooked for present of a Breath of Spring Mink....
Come and watch these aristokratic crooks at work as Sheringham Players present Peter
Coke's 'Breath of Spring' at Sheringham Little Theatre. |

THE ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION
Group Captain Blake gave a detailed report on the vast amount of work
being undertaken to prepare for the closure of the Station and firstly for the fly out of
the last aircraft on the 1st April. Every RAFA Branch associated with RAF Coltishall
is being offered a number of tickets for the events.
The Group Captain went on to talk about the Station and its impact on North Norfolk over
the years since it opened at the outbreak of the Second World War. It was a very
friendly RAF Station greatly appreciated by all who had served there and its closure would
have a major effect on local trade and industry.
The Chairman called on the President, Sir Colin Turner, to propose a vote of thanks to
Group Captain Blake. Sir Colin said when he took over as Branch Chairman 12 years
ago he contacted the then Station Commander at RAF Coltishall. From that moment the
Sheringham & District Branch has enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the Station,
which has helped the Branch to become one of the most successful in the Eastern Area.
In those early days Rafaloes joined us offering help and advice at nearly every
meeting and the Station Commanders and other senior Officers were regular speakers at
Branch meetings. Sir Colin said that in making this vote of thanks to Group Captain Blake
he also he also wished to thank all the Station Commanders for their kindness, help and
co-operation over the last 12 years. RAF Coltishall was an excellent RAF Station and
would be greatly missed when it closed on the 1st April.
READERS LETTER
Dear Editor
Am I the only person to notice the increase of fly tipping around North Norfolk? In
the past five years I have seen more and more rubbish in lay-by's and on country lanes.
Perhaps its because the council-run tips have now got more rules on what you can
and can't take there anymore. Or is it just me that gets told not to bring so much
rubbish?! What on earth do I pay ridiculous amounts of council tax for? Once
upon a time the refuse collectors took everything and for less money! What is
happening to this country?
