As a way of improving the accessibility of our services to the public,
Norfolk Constabulary have created a number of Information Points situated in rural Post
Office branches and council information centres across Norfolk including one in Sheringham
located at Sheringham Plus, 3, Station Road, Sheringham.
 |
We have 13 information points located in
rural Post Offices and 7 Council information centres. Local officers and police
community support officers call into the information points twice a week as part of their
core patrol duties, to meet post office staff and public to offer support and advice.
In addition, officers working in public enquiry offices in police stations are
available to provide advice by telephone or personal visits to answer any queries post
office staff may have. A number of activities are undertaken on behalf of the
Constabulary at these information points such as:
* reporting malicious telephone calls
* reporting an incident
* reporting a crime
* obtaining firearm/shotgun applications and making submissions
* obtaining data protection applications and making submissions
* handing in and recording found property
* recording lost property
* checking/recording of driving documents
* displaying of police information leaflets
Norfolk Constabulary has also introduced six internet kiosks across the county which
enable users to email the Force, search the Constabulary website for information, provide
a facility to report crime, to make contact with specific officers and provide a link with
the Contact and Dispatch Centre for assistance and emergency calls. The kiosks also
enable the Norfolk Constabulary to advertise current campaigns, and seek assistance from
the public for incidents such as missing persons and local crime. It's the
Constabulary's intention to extend this facility across other parts of the county.
The machines are supplied by DVE.
