READERS
LETTER
Dear @Sheringham
I'd just like to say thank you for doing these magazines because whenever the next one
comes, I always rush to the door to get it, so that I can read it first. But I'm afraid
that won't be happening in July because I am moving away to South America where my Mum
comes from. So I'm going to be very upset when I leave because I won't be reading the
@Sheringham or walking into Sheringham town to sit by the beach so I will miss all of
that. I'm entering the Beaky competition for the last time, as I will leave on the 9th of
July. Hopefully if win, I will have something to remember Sheringham by and I can show my
new friends in Colombia that my name is in a magazine.
I am very much going to miss reading the @Sheringham but I hope you carry on the magazine
forever as it is very successful. I loved finding out what was going on and especially
liked embarrassing stories, competitions and reading about the cats, as they are my
favourite animal.

CATS PROTECTION
We are pleased to report that another of our older cats has been re-homed.
Mungo, a delightful black and white boy, age 9 years, joined us recently because he
could not settle to living in London after spending all his life in the country. He
has adapted well to his new surroundings and is enjoying receiving lots of tender loving
care from his new owner and her friends in a local Residential Home.
Working with cats we have found that we are always learning something new. When Lola
came into care, having been abandoned by her owners when they moved we did not expect any
problems. This dear little cat was pregnant, very thin and in need of lots of tender
loving care. A week after arriving she had three kittens and proved to be a very
protective and caring mother. When the kittens were six weeks old Stephanie noticed
that her top lip was very thick and took her to the vets who advised her that Lola had a
rodent ulcer. Although this is easily treeted with steroids, Lola could not begin
treatment while feeding her kittens. As soon as the kittens were feeding
independently, they went to stay with Margaret, and Lola received appropriate treatment.
The kittens have all now left for their new homes and Lola, now recovered and
neutered is waiting to be chosen. Although there is a possibility that the rodent
ulcer could return, it is easily treated and not life threatening.
If you are looking for a cat, call Stephanie on 01692 535858. Alternatively you can
visit http://www.northwalsham.cats.org.uk
(our new web address) for a description and photographs of the cats before giving her a
