The new Sheringham Warriors kicked off their season with a victory over
Buxton. The game started brightly with Jodi Norris opening the scoring for the
Warriors with a well taken finish, but it wasn't too long before Buxton equalized when
their striker managed to out pace the Warriors defence to fire past the helpless John
Reynolds. The Warriors battled back and soon retook the lead when Harry Carrington
was on hand to score and just before half time a well worked move by the Sheringham boys
saw the ball ping around in the goal mouth for Ben Conn to nod in. At half time it
was 1-3 to the Warriors. The second half started really brightly for the Warriors
with a lovely passing move being finished off by Harry Carrington. Buxton always
looked dangerous going forward with their strikers always looking lively, but down the
flanks the impressive Ali Burghall and Tom Harrison were dealing with every thing that
came at them. Sheringham Warriors then made it 1-5 when the defence of Buxton was
breached and a lovely square ball was knocked in by Josh Glister. Buxton then made
it a bit more tense by scoring two more goals each time breaking down the middle of the
Warriors defence and firing the ball home. Will Parker then picked up the ball on
the right hand side and crossed the ball in, for Josh Glister to sublimely flick the ball
into the back of the net. The Warriors then made it 3-7 when Ben Conn laid the ball
on to Cameron Humphrey who fired the ball into the roof of the net. This was a good
performance from Sheringham Warriors considering it being their first game of the season
and the temperature it was played in. |

DOREEN BIRCH - LOCAL ARTIST When I was young I was always drawing. My mother was always looking
for me and there I was hidden away with my drawing book and pencil, so everybody knew what
to buy me for birthdays and Christmas. I enjoy it so much it takes me out of myself
into a different world.
