Sheringham Community PaperAylsham Wanderers U12s 2 v 6 Sheringham Warriors U12s

Sheringham Warriors turned in one of their best performances of the season against a battling Aylsham team.  The Warriors got off to a flier, when Jacob Knowles received the ball from the kick-off and flew down the left wing putting in an inch perfect cross for Shane Cox to head into the corner of the net, the first goal was timed at 17 seconds.  The Sheringham boys then had some more good chances with Cameron Humphrey shaving the post on a couple of occasions.  Jacob Knowles then got good reward for his hard work when he raced through and slotted the ball past the keeper.  Aylsham then came close to getting a goal but a brilliant point blank save from John Reynolds kept them out.  The Warriors were piling a lot of pressure on the Aylsham defence and won a free kick some 30 yards from goal, Shane Cox put a teasing ball in, the pressure from the Warriors forwards then caused an Aylsham player to head into his own net.   Aylsham were still giving their all and got a goal back but it wasn't long before the passing game of the Warriors resulted in Harry Carrington being able to receive the ball and calmly slot the ball under the Aylsham Keeper.  Next came the wonder goal with Shane Cox picking the ball up in his own half and firing it into the top of the net, this capped off a superb half for the Sheringham Warriors.

The second half was a lot tighter than the first half but both teams still produced chances; Sheringham went close with Josh Glister having his shot well saved by the Aylsham keeper and Ben Conn going close on a number of occasions.  The play had switched from left to right and Jodi Norris was getting a lot of success down that flank fighting his way past the Aylsham defence, he was rewarded for his endeavors when he managed to outstrip the Aylsham defence and fire the ball into the back of the net.  The Warriors were still coming under attack but Tom Harrison, Tommy Bywater, Tom Fleming and Ali Burghall were like rocks at the back dealing with everything that came at them, their good work during the match had helped to instill a lot of confidence in the team giving the attacking players license to go forward.  Aylsham kept working hard and to their credit picked up a goal in the last minute but this had turned out to be a superb team performance by the Sheringham Warriors who had passed the ball around the pitch sublimely.

CROMER COMMUNITY & HOSPITAL FRIENDS

Dear Editor, May I through your column convey my thanks to everyone who supported our Grand Charity Concert at The Pier Pavilion, Cromer on Friday 20th October.  The evening was a great success and the audience enjoyed a superb concert given by The Just Jazz Goodtime Jazzband, thanks lads you were brilliant.  I would also like to thank all those who helped on the night and those who so generously donated raffle prizes and to the Pier Management for all their help and support.

The concert raised a wonderful £1618.19 which will go to help the recently opened Dialysis unit at Cromer Hospital and to continue our work providing equipment and patient care and comforts in the Cromer community.

COUNCIL PLEASED AT EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL DECISION

North Norfolk District Council has expressed its satisfaction that an employment tribunal held in Norwich has found in its favour in the case of a council worker, Androualla Foden, formerly a member of the Benefits Help and Advice Team, who was appealing against her dismissal for gross misconduct.

"We are very pleased that the tribunal has agreed that we did the right thing in dismissing an officer who abused a position of trust and that the council's process for dealing with this matter was completely fair," said Council Leader, Simon Partridge. "Our Benefits Help and Advice Team exists to help some of the most vulnerable people in North Norfolk, and it's completely unacceptable for an officer to try to use their customers' sensitive financial information for personal gain.  It's a reprehensible breach of confidence.

"We had no confidence in this officer, so dismissal was the only appropriate course of action."
