NORTH NORFOLK CAMERA CLUB

An 'away' win at our recent interclub competition against North Walsham Camera Club proves that we have been taking note of the comments and suggestions given by judges and speakers at previous events.  Winning both the print and slide sections was quite an achievement as the standard from both clubs was exceptionally good.

Our 'in house' practical evening saw cameras and tripods being used to photograph extreme close-ups, unusual set pieces and even projected images to simulate hard to capture outdoor scenes. A successful departure from our usual programme.
The last meeting before the Christmas break will be the Portfolio competition (Holt Community Centre on December 6th) where members submit three prints and/or slides linked by theme and presentation, judged individually but also given an overall mark.
Two meetings in the New Year (January 3rd and 17th) are the 'Best All Rounder' competitions, the former for slides and the latter for prints. Five images on set subjects from each member who wishes to enter. All our competitions have a cup for the winners presented annually but no one is fiercely competitive, there is tremendous pleasure in seeing the vast array of images submitted and how each subject in interpreted by the individuals concerned. An additional section has been added to the meeting on January 3rd where slides on the summer cup subject of The Seashore will be shown and judged.

If you are interested to see what goes on for yourself just pop along one evening or ring for a programme and more information.
Visitors are welcome to all meetings held on Wednesdays fortnightly at Holt Community Centre Lounge Room, 7 for 7.30pm start, £2. For further information ring Judy Knights on 01263 825418 TEW

DUNSTABLE ARMS

A Quiz and Chip night was held at the Dunstable Arms on 13th November.   It was attended by over 70 people who helped raise £480 for the "Squirrels Respite Centre", Aylsham.  A fun night was had by all for the "not so serious quiz".  Thank you to all whom attended, provided prizes and bought raffle tickets.  Special thanks to Craig and Kevin for providing the venue and the tasty chip supper.
