Welcome to what we hope will be
the first of many articles regarding the Hobbies of the people of Sheringham.
Our first feature is on Bill and Barbara Kutnyj who are members of the North Norfolk Minni
House Club. They have been making dolls houses and miniature replicas for 13 years. |
|
The club has monthly and yearly
projects. The house and contents they are most proud of is the first project they
undertook which lasted a total of 11 and a half months and won 2nd prize at a contest. |

|
|

|
| Before their retirement Barbara
had always wanted a dolls house and when they found time was on their hands they turned
their attention to the world of miniatures. |
|
Occasionally the club puts on an
exhibition to raise money for local charities and the most recent raised over £500 for
the RNLI. At the meetings the group share ideas and talents over the 2 hours that they
normally last. |

|
|

|
| They joined a club in Norwich,
which was unfortunately dissolved when the Assembly Rooms burnt down so they set up a
club, along with fellow enthusiasts, in Cromer for anyone in North Norfolk who shared
their interest. The club was established in 1995 and is still going strong with
monthly meetings held for 40+ members of which almost a quarter are from Sheringham. |
|
We would be delighted to hear any
more interesting hobbies that you or people you know have and would like to be featured in
a future publication. If you would like any more information regarding the Club please
contact the secretary June Hill on (01692) 538321. We would like to thank Bill and
Barbara for showing us round their wonderful collection.
