Hanging Baskets
If you have a greenhouse start planting baskets of fuchsias and geraniums.

Bare-root Plants
Bare-root plants must be planted in the next few weeks.

Clematis
Prune late-flowering clematis by cutting back all growth to a pair of buds 6 - 18 inches above the ground.

Snowdrops
Move and divide snowdrops while they are in leaf for the best results.

Lawns
The lawn may need its first cut. Brush off worm casts first and choose a dry day, set the mower at its highest and only remove a little grass. Apply a lawn feed if the grass is growing strongly.

Shrubs
Prune your shrubs for better displays.

Fuchsias
Plants in the greenhouse should be growing well now, take strong shoots as cuttings for new plants. If you have established fuchsias, they can now be pruned to shape.

Embarrassing Stories

Sheringham Community Paper

I used to work on the land as a young lady and in my time we still worked with horses and carts. The first tractor duly arrived, a lovely big red International, and we used to watch it with interest.

One day I was asked to drive it, there I sat, driving past my friends, feeling as big as three people. I had to drive straight past them all working in the field and go to the end of the field. When I got to the end of the field, my workmate told me to stop as I had gone far enough.

I shouted "Whoa" and couldn't figure out why the thing didn't stop. It took ages before I lived that one down!

SHERINGHAM W. I.
Members enjoyed a February evening trying their hand at making Greeting Cards in Decoupage, Embroidery, Paper Pricking or Parchment, a most enjoyable time was had by all with each taking home their finished item.

A 'Bring and Buy' stall with a Green and Yellow theme was most successful, it was run on a first to pay basis as each item was offered and there was much banter between members as they won or lost the item that took their eye.

It was reported that the Quiz team had come 6th in the first round of the Radio Norfolk Challenge. Also reported was that the Scrabble pair had come 4th in their tournament.

We were pleased to welcome five visitors and hope we can welcome them as members in the near future.

Flower of the month competition winner was Jenny Livingstone with four members as runners-up.

The next meeting is Thursday the 13th March, in St Andrew's Church Hall, Cromer Road at 7.30 pm. when Mr. Peter Mendham, will talk on the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the competition to be a "Rescue Collage". New members are always most welcome.
